IWC Alligator Leather Watch Strap Restoration

Hello, this is Lederraum :)

Today, we’re sharing the restoration process of an IWC alligator leather watch strap, specifically the replacement of the inner lining.
After years of use, the inner leather had worn down and weakened.
By using the finest materials and precise hand-stitching, we brought new life to this beautiful strap.

Chéremat Natural Lining – Premium Leather Used by Luxury Brands

For this restoration, we used Chéremat calfskin, produced by the renowned Haas Tannery in France.
This is the same premium lining leather used by world-class luxury brands such as Hermès for their high-end watch straps.

Chéremat leather is known for:

Original Stitch Color Matched — Precision in Every Hand Stitch

For this project, we matched the original stitching color exactly as it was.
Instead of machine-sewing, the entire process was completed with hand-stitching,
preserving the original design while reinforcing the strength and durability.

Hand-sewn stitches provide a level of soul, precision, and longevity
that machine sewing simply cannot replicate.

This strap now carries both the character of the original design
and the craftsmanship of a meticulous leather artisan.
