Bottega Veneta Cardholder – Edge Repair & Cleaning Work Log

Have you ever experienced the edges of a leather wallet melting, staining your hands,
or sticking to the inside lining after years of use?

In hot and humid weather—especially during summer—edge coating can easily soften and melt,
causing damage not only on the outside but often on the inner lining as well.

This project involved repairing the edge damage on a Bottega Veneta cardholder.
The exterior edges had melted in several areas, and parts of the inner lining had become discolored and sticky due to the transferred coating.

Repair & Cleaning Process

• Complete removal of the damaged edge coating and reapplication
• Lining cleaning and removal of all sticky residue
• Overall leather cleaning to restore a neat, refined appearance

After repair, the sticky and melting edges were cleanly restored,
and the lining—once stuck together—was brought back to its original condition.

Consistent maintenance is important for leather goods,
but receiving proper repair at the right time is the key to keeping them usable for years.
